  1. PLT: v1.3b release notes.  Febuary 7, 1989.

  3. This release contains only two bug fixes.  One of the bugs was that if PLT:
  4. couldn't find the file PLTDATA:pltfontnames, it would try to open a requestor,
  5. but at that point, the intuition.library had not been opened.
  6.  
  7. The other "bug" was the way PLT: decided what the maximum page size was on 
  8. printers which use fan fold paper.  The printer driver indicates that the page
  9. size is 0 in that case.  Since for several reasons, PLT: needs to know the
  10. maximum page height, it assumed 10.5 inches.  (10.5 instead of 11 to give a
  11. quarter inch top and bottom margin.)  European paper is appearently 12 inches
  12. however, and this caused a problem.  Also, this would have kept people with
  13. wide carriage printers from printing page sizes greater than size A.  PLT:
  14. now looks for an enviroment variable "PltMaxPageHeight" containing a maximum
  15. page height.  If this environment variable doesn't exist, it assumes 10.5 
  16. inches.

  23. New Features:
  24.    
  25. -  Variable page sizes are now allowed.  PLT: regonizes standard page sizes
  26.    A - E, as well as page sizes specified by the limits fields on the 
  27.    Graphics 2 screen of Preferences.

  29. -  Fonts are now disk resident.  This allows multiple fonts to be used durring
  30.    a plot and also allow the user to create or modify fonts.
  31.  
  32. -  PLT: defaults in the memory-squander mode but will now automaticly switch
  33.    to the memory conserve mode when available memory falls below 2K.  When
  34.    the memory mode is switched, the tree used in the memory-squander mode is
  35.    removed, freeing up space for more lines.

  37. Bug Fixes:

  39. -  The line types are now correctly implemented.
  40.  
  41. -  PLT: now places a dot when the pen is lowered and then raised with moving.
  42.  
  43. -  PLT: now correctly reads floating point numbers.
  44.  
  45. -  I think there were a few other bugs that were fixed, but I didn't write 
  46.    them down, and I've forgotten what they were.
